James Lee has been in the financial services industry since 1998 and has been trained in the development of investment policy, asset allocation strategy, portfolio analysis, investment manager selection, and risk management. He also has been trained in fiduciary advisory and alternative investments.
James is honored to be named in the 2024 Forbes “Best in State Wealth Advisors” List.
Industry Involvement
James was a panelist at the 2006 Investment Company Institute’s annual conference focusing on separately managed accounts and mutual funds. Investment News Daily, Financial-Planning.com, and Bloomberg News have interviewed him for his views on the investment industry.
He is a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly known as the Investment Management Consultants Association – IMCA).
Education and Designations
He has earned the Certified Investment Management AnalystsSM designation after extensive graduate-level coursework and examination from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He is also a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®), a designation bestowed by the College of Financial Planning. In addition, he is a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor.
He received his Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University in 1987.
Philanthropy
James is a current member of the board of directors of Paths for Families (formerly Adoptions Together) and works on their development committee. He was a founding board member of the Cisco Center Foundation (a special needs children’s resource center) and is also a former member of the board of directors of the Abilities Network and Epilepsy Foundation of the Chesapeake Region. He was one of their fundraising committee chairs for several years. James has volunteered his time as a counselor for the Evelyn Burst Financial Research and Education Foundation.
